Senior IT Developer

Simon Gilbert joined the Clinical Trials Service Unit (now part of NDPH) in 2006. He is a senior developer in the China Kadoorie Biobank IT group. His role involves requirements capture, specification, design and development of PC, laptop and tablet based software systems to support the study. The software is written in C++ using Embarcadero C++ Builder and PostreSQL databases. He previously worked on the Thrive and REVEAL clinical trials.  

Simon has a BSc in mathematics from the University of London, an MSc in Information Technology from the University of Strathclyde and an MA in Chinese studies from the University of Leeds. He has worked as a software developer since 1987, including 9 years with Siemens in Dublin.
