On 14th September, senior scientists at the University of Oxford attended a CKB Genetic Research Users Group meeting.

Study PI Zhengming Chen provided a brief update on the CKB. This was followed by an overview by Dr Robin Walters of the available genomic data, some initial findings of interest and future plans to complete genotyping for the remaining 400k and to conduct whole genome sequencing in a subset.  Prof Robert Clarke then outlined the group’s immediate publication plans for genetic-related investigations.  This was followed by productive discussions on development and sharing of methodologies, data sharing, and opportunities for collaborative research between the various departments and groups represented. The group will continue to meet to review progress, identify key research questions, plan future collaborative analyses.  It will also work with the National Coordinating Centre to develop genetic research capacity among project partners in China.
